Search Project aims to support and empower older people and their carers to improve their quality of life.
Search Project is a community based resource centre for older people and their carers in West Newcastle, based on Adelaide Terrace in Benwell. We are a registered charity (no. 507949) and are run by a voluntary Management Committee. Local older people are consulted and involved in the development of all Search's work.
We offer a range of community health activities, leisure and learning opportunities, advice and help with claiming benefits and accessing services. Most of our services are for people aged fifty and over except for the advice and information work which is for people over pension age and for carers of pensioners.
The project generally covers Newcastle's inner west wards of Benwell & Scotswood, Elswick, Westgate, Fenham and Wingrove.
